In Part 3 we configured vCO, it's authentication, SSL certificates and vCenter server. Now in Part 3 we are going to look at how to access and use VCO, including running a workflows.

In a VDI environment users may experience delays, hangs, freezes and pauses when using the Microsoft Office suite of applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

I've also heard this described as "lumpy" performance!

This can be seen in Office versions 2007, 2010 and the latest 2013 (including Office 365 click to run) with all updates applied for both Office and Windows.

 

While this can be caused by a number of factors, such as insufficient vCPU/vRAM in the guest OS or resource contention at the host level, it could also be due to a setting within Office to disable hardware acceleration.

This is a guide to the process of updating VMware ESX Server Its intention is to give an overview of the steps involved rather than going into too much detail, as this can vary from version to version.

After VMware thought up their last bunch of name changes, they didnt stop there. They will be renaming Virtual Infrastructure as.... wait for it...... vSphere!

If you have not done so already, check the pre conversion checklist to ensure some basic pre checks are met and anything else you may need to consider for the migration.
